The recent controversy surrounding Dimitri Payet's demands to leave West Ham have, understandably, not gone down too well with the Hammers' fanbase and the club have been forced to take extra security measures as a result of the Frenchman's strike action.
The news has caused such a furore that even WWE legend Triple H has had his say on the matter, while West Ham have now drafted in extra security to protect Payet's mural at their home ground from vandals.

On top of this, West Ham have had maintenance staff remove Payet's shirt from the outside of the stadium in the aftermath of the Frenchman's actions:

It doesn't stop there, either. Soccer Saturday's leading football oracle Paul Merson has lashed out at the former Marseille playmaker during today's episode of Sky Sports' Saturday programme:

The love affair is certainly over for Payet in East London. Where next for him, though? The West Ham board must be kicking themselves at not accepting the big money offers that came their way over the Summer.
