Not a great start for the Dutchman in France

After a pretty miserable 18 months with Manchester United, Memphis Depay will be hoping that he can revive his once promising career with new club Lyon.

However, if the Dutch winger is to do that, he'll need to massively improve upon his debut for 'Les Gones', tonight.

Of course, the former PSV Eindhoven prodigy is sorely lacking match practice, having barely figured under Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford, this season, so he can be forgiven for a poor 68 minutes during Lyon's 2-1 defeat to Lille.

Memphis struggled to maintain possession, often giving the ball away before he was withdrawn not long after the hour mark. One French broadcaster did predict an anonymous display for the former United number seven, though:

Depay's highlights can be seen on the below video. Lyon fans will be hoping they're not a sign of things to come from their £17m man.
