Arsenal fan Piers Morgan has offered out of favour midfielder Mesut Ozil a 'COVID-secure' lift to the airport as he continues to be linked with a move.

It is believed Ozil's future will be resolved in a matter of days, according to his agent Dr Erkut Sogut, with the player's future still undecided as he enters the final six months of his contract in North London.

The German World Cup winner, who has yet to play a single minute under Mikel Arteta this season, has been linked with numerous clubs in recent months, including a shock move to MLS side DC United.

But it appears a transfer to Turkish side Fenerbahce is most likely, with news agency DHA Spor reporting that Ozil has agreed a three-and-a-half year deal with the Super Lig outfit.

Amid the ongoing rumours, Ozil's agent Sogut has revealed the player will make a decision 'within the next 10 days', according to ESPN, but clearly Arsenal super-fan Piers Morgan is eager to hurry things up.

"BOOM! Finally, some good news in 2021!" he wrote on his official Twitter account.

"If you need a (covid-secure) lift to the airport @MesutOzil1088, let me know."

This isn't the first time Morgan has aimed a not-so-subtle dig at the German midfielder. Last month, Ozil shared an image on Twitter captioned: "The feeling of having fans behind you... #grateful #bestfans #hardtimes."

Morgan, meanwhile, took exception to Ozil's comments.

"Real Arsenal fans aren't behind you." Morgan wrote. "You're our Paul Pogba - massively overpaid, massively under-performing & shockingly overinflated sense of your own importance."

Ozil, who is currently on a reported £350,000 a week at Arsenal, soon hit back at the post.

"Piers, buddy, are you still bitter from the other day? It seems like you're not a big fan of World Champions. I wish you would see as good as you hear thing [phone and ear emoji.]

And a month earlier, Ozil tweeted 'Let's gooooo' in support of the Gunners ahead of their game against Leeds United in the Premier League.

Morgan later quote tweeted the German telling him to go "for your sake and Arsenal's."

What next for Mesut Ozil? Should he stay at Arsenal or would Fenerbahce be a good move for the 32-year-old?

Let us know in the comments.
