Steven Gerrard appeared to call someone a "f******g ballbag" while in the stands for Rangers' win over Livingston last night.

The Liverpool legend had been sent off for delivering a foul-mouth tirade towards referee John Beaton at half-time.

Gerrard was furious over the decision to book Alfredo Morelos for simulation despite there appearing to be contact - with Rangers now appealing the decision.

Approaching the official at half-time, microphones picked up Gerrard's x-rated rant.

"I know why you won't speak to me, because you're f*cking bang wrong," Gerrard said.

"You're bang out of order."

Gerrard's actions saw him sent to the stands but his venting did not stop there. Fans couldn't help but spot him branding someone, quite possibly the referee, a "f*****g ballbag" in stoppage time of a huge 1-0 win for Rangers.

Talisman Morelos scored the winner three minutes from time to move Rangers ever so close to lifting a first Scottish Premiership title since 2011.

Asked about Morelos having this perception as a diver, Gerrard came up with a brilliant answer post-match.

He told Sky Sports: "Don't worry about Alfredo, he has just scored the winner and is in there dancing around with no top on to Sweet Caroline. He's fine."

After an incredible unbeaten run this term, Gerrard's side now need just four points to win the title and could well clinch it at the home of bitter rivals Celtic on 21 March.
