Paul Scholes has been voted by the SPORTbible audience as the greatest Premier League midfielder of all time.

We ran a poll and asked you which Premier League midfielder takes the crown as 'greatest' and Manchester United legend Paul Scholes came through on top.

There was a player from each of the top four on the list, with Patrick Vieira of Arsenal, Steven Gerrard of Liverpool and Frank Lampard of Chelsea all featuring in the poll.

Gerrard never won the Premier League but arguably is the most integral player to his respective club, while Lampard was a goal-scoring machine for the Blues. Vieira was brilliant for Arsenal during his time there and was a key component in Arsenal's Invincibles period in 2004.

Of course, these sort of polls are subjective and we will never really find a true winner. The results could be because of a large following of Manchester United supporters on the SPORTbible page, but there could be another reason.

Scholes is highly underrated in certain circles and sometimes he gets underlooked because of captain fantastic Roy Keane.
