Pep Guardiola is planning to make a return to the Etihad Stadium on October 14 in a 'show of support' to former club Manchester City as their battle with the Premier League continues.
It was announced on Tuesday (September 29) that City have been found guilty of all charges relating to serious breaches of the Premier League's financial rules following a ruling by an independent commission.
The commission found that between 2009-10 and 2017-18, the club arranged "sham" contracts with commercial partners as part of a "disguised funding scheme" to artificially inflate the club's revenues by £830million.

On Friday, City confirmed that they have appealed the decision regarding breaches of Premier League rules.
As mentioned in a statement by the Premier League, the independent appeal board hearing will remain private and confidential until publication of the outcome is permitted.
A section of the Premier League regulations says that an appeal hearing should conclude within 12 weeks of it being heard, and a decision communicated within 30 days of that, although that timeframe can change if deemed necessary.
Pep Guardiola wants to "be with his people" and show support
Just hours after City confirmed it will lodge an appeal against the verdict, it emerged that Guardiola is planning a 'shock return' to the Etihad in what has been described as 'a show of support' to his former club.
A report from The Express claims the 55-year-old, who stepped down as City manager at the end of the 2025-26 season, has told senior club figures he would like to "be with his people".
The game Guardiola is reportedly planning to attend is City's Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain on October 14, a game that will take place at the Etihad.

Pep Guardiola posts message of support following guilty verdict
Earlier this week, Guardiola posted a message of support to Manchester City's players and staff, as well as the fans and their ownership, after City were found guilty of all charges related to serious breaches of Premier League financial rules
"I want every single Manchester City fan across the world to know I am here; more than ever. I am, always have been, always will, be behind my club, my owner, my chairman, Ferran, the players, staff, Enzo [Maresca] and you, our unique supporters," he said.
"Let me be clear: we will get through this together. I love you all."
