Galatasaray fans have gathered in their thousands to welcome new signing Radamel Falcao, who is joining on a three-year contract from Monaco.

After successful negotiations between the two clubs, the Colombian is flying to Istanbul to complete the move and be presented as a Galatasaray player and the club's supporters are keeping in line with their reputation as one of the most passionate fanbases around.

Staggeringly, over 25,000 have turned up at Istanbul airport to greet the former Manchester United and Chelsea striker and the scenes just look absolutely out of this world.

Since joining Monaco from Atletico Madrid for a reported £50 million in 2013, 'El Tigre' has struck 83 goals in 139 appearances for the Principality outfit - winning the Ligue One title under Leonardo Jardim in 2017.

But with just a year remaining on his Monaco deal, he will now move onto a new challenge in the Turkish capital - something he hinted at earlier this summer.

"The truth is that I still have a year of contract and the club did not offer me an extension," Falcao revealed following a friendly victory over Sampdoria last month.

"So I have to think about my future, my family. I am studying the offers I have been offered. These are good opportunities for my career. I have to think about my family."

Falcao becomes Galatasaray's 10th signing of the summer in a window that has seen the likes of Steven Nzonzi, Ryan Babel, Jean Michael Seri and Emre Mor all join on loan.

Will Falcao bang in the goals over in Turkey?

Sound off in the comments.
