Jamie Carragher admits he's never been more wrong about a player in an honest confession following the start of the 2020/21 Premier League season.

Carragher spoke about his role as a pundit and touched on the progress at Arsenal, highlighting one of their major summer signings.

The club secured Martin Odegaard on a permanent deal and splashed out in excess of £50 million to sign Ben White.

Not to mention Aaron Ramsdale who left Sheffield United for the Gunners in a deal worth £25 million.

And the Liverpool legend has praised the England international, saying he's never been more wrong about a player than the 23-year-old.

He told Wrighty's House podcast: "Since I've come into punditry I've probably not been the most popular person with Arsenal supporters as they've always been really poor.

"This is the first time I feel almost excited by it because while I don't think Arsenal can compete with the top teams but when you've got young players in you feel like you can get behind it and almost accept performances and results at certain times because of the age of the players.

"It feels like there's something about Arsenal right now it feels like there's a coming together.

"The keeper, I mean, if I've ever been wrong more about a player than Aaron Ramsdale then I don't know which one it is yet."

At first, the signing of Ramsdale appeared to be an unnecessary addition with Bernd Leon on the books.

But he's since become the club's No.1 and produced heroics in net, performing a save of the season contender against Leicester City.

His brilliant performances at Arsenal saw Gareth Southgate call him up to the England team, with the stopper making his international debut against San Marino.
