Haringey Players Walk Off The Pitch After Their Keeper Receives Racist Abuse

Haringey Borough and Yeovil Town's FA Cup fourth qualifying round match was abandoned after reports of racial abuse directed at Haringey's goalkeeper.

Cameroonian keeper Douglas Pajetat was allegedly spat at and had bottles thrown in his direction from visiting fans, which prompted the Haringey players to walk off the pitch.

Yeovil's captain attempted to speak with the supporters before the home team took the decision to leave the field.

Pajetat's teammates, Coby Rowe, also engaged with the fans and had to be restrained by security.

Yeovil posted the following Tweets regarding their cup clash with Haringey this afternoon.

Haringey have also provided an update on the situation.

"Sorry for the late update but wanted to make sure we gave correct information," the club wrote on Twitter.

"Game has been abandoned following racial abuse. Horrendous afternoon. It must be said that 99.9% of @YTFC fans are also disgusted by what's happened as much as we are. One club, one community."

A few hours after the game, Yeovil released a statement.

"Yeovil Town FC will be cooperating with the authorities and our friends at Haringey Borough FC regarding events leading up to today's fixture not being completed," the club statement reads.

"We are aware that there are allegations that racist comments were made in the crowd and this allegation will be a key part of any investigation. Irrespective of the outcome of any investigations, we would like to make it clear that the club will not accept racism or discrimination in any form.

"The club will be making no further comment until the current investigations are completed."
