The Premier League are reportedly ready to push back the 36th and 37th round of fixtures so all teams get 10,000 fans back before the season ends.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson laid out the UK's plans to ease lockdown restrictions and it is hoped fans can return to stadiums on May 17.

As of right now, only one round of fixtures fall into that timeframe but The Athletic state changes are coming.

The 36th round of fixtures are currently set to be midweek kick-offs on May 11 and 12 but these are set to be moved to May 15 and 16, the dates of matchweek 37.

Matchweek 37 is set to move back to May 18 and 19 which means fans can attend.

It would not impact the final day of the Premier League season which will be Sunday May 23.

Premier League clubs would need to agree to the changes and talks are currently in the initial stages.

The FA Cup final is currently set for May 15 but it is believed fixtures will be played earlier in the midweek of matchweek 36.

Johnson told the House of Commons last month: "The turnstiles of our sports stadia will once again rotate, subject in all cases to capacity limits depending on the size of the venue."
