Five red cards were shown in a crazy end to the Ligue One match between Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille this evening.

The visitors won 'Le Classique' thanks to a first-half strike from Florian Thauvin but the fixture descended into chaos in the dying minutes - seeing five dismissals in addition to a total of 14 bookings in the game.

Layvin Kurzawa and Leandro Paredes were sent off for PSG, with Marseille pair Jordan Amavi and Dario Benedetto also given their marching orders in the 97th minute.

Then, Neymar, who was making his first appearance of the season, was also dismissed in the 99th minute for his part in a brawl when the referee went to VAR.

Using the technology, the man in the middle was able to see Neymar had punched Alvaro Gonzalez in the back of the head and so the game was finished with 17 players on the pitch.

Upon leaving the field, Neymar appeared to make an accusation to the fourth official that Gonzalez had made a racist remark to him as they clashed on the pitch - which then led to him lashing out as a result.

Marseille boss Andre Villas-Boas didn't comment too much on the allegation made but said "racism is unacceptable".

After the defeat, PSG are without a point this term and have lost their first two Ligue One matches for the first time since the 1984/85 season.
