Andy Carroll has named Fame Academy dance teacher Kevin Adams as the man who sexually assaulted him.
In an autobiography titled 'Owning it', Carroll recently waived his anonymity and revealed that he was a victim of sexual assault in an incident involving a male celebrity five years ago.
At the time, the former England striker decided against naming the perpetrator, who was later jailed for three years, but he has since confirmed that it was Adams, best known working as a dancing coach on BBC series Fame Academy.

After deciding to include details of the incident in his book "at the very last minute" with the hopes it would help other victims, Carroll was open about the devastating impact the incident has had on his life.
Carroll wrote: "Scary to talk about but it's made [me] the person I am today as much as any of the good stuff. And if me talking about it helps just one person then good, it will have been worth it.

"What happened to me affected every facet of my life. I'd think about it every day, making it difficult to focus on anything else, including football… The trauma of what happened to me hasn't gone away."
Now, after learning that Adams' name was publicly available in court records, Carroll has confirmed that Adams was the man who assaulted him.
"Now that Kevin Adams has been named in court documents as my abuser, I can confirm it," he told The Sun.
“Hopefully now I can finally start to put this chapter behind me."
The 37-year-old asked that members of the public did not share images of him with Adams admitting he didn't want to be regularly reminded of the incident.
"I just ask that people don’t constantly share pictures of my abuser alongside me," he said.
"I don’t want to keep seeing his face or being reminded of him every time this story is spoken about. I’m ready to move forward. This had a devastating impact on my life and loved ones."
Adams, now 59, was found guilty of sexually assaulting Carroll in September 2023 following a trial at Chelmsford Crown Court.
He was jailed for 20 months and instructed to put his name on the sex offender register for 10 years and to stay away from the village where Carroll lived.
During her sentencing remarks, Judge Mary Loram said: "You spun a literally incredible tale in which you painted yourself as the victim.
"In your narrative, you were the put-upon reluctant friend doing no more than helping out.
"The end of your unbelievable tale was that you were the victim of the most serious sexual assaults yourself.
"However incredible your account, it seems to me that you’ve actually started to believe your own lies."
Adams has since set all of his social media accounts to private and is yet to comment publicly.
