Christian Pulisic is one of many players who can count themselves unlucky to have been underrated by EA Sports on FIFA 21.

The first batch of this year's ratings have prompted much confusion and frustration from fans and players alike - with Inter Milan's Romelu Lukaku stating his belief that EA do it on purpose as a marketing technique ahead of the game's release.

A whole host of high-profile players have been hard done by despite their performances in the 2019/20 season, with Pulisic's rating generating a furious reaction from fans.

Despite an impressive first season at Chelsea, where he scored 11 goals in all competitions, the United States international is rated 81 and has a non-rare card.

It's the slightest of upgrades for the former Borussia Dortmund winger but the fact his shooting is less than players like Fernandinho and James Milner - and his overall is less than Steven Bergwijn, Nicolas Pepe and Michael Antonio - has irked gamers aplenty.

In other bizarre calls, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang's downgrade of -1 was met with disapproval from fans, Serge Gnabry was given a -8 pace downgrade for no apparent reason and the decision to give Paul Pogba the same rating as Jordan Henderson wasn't exactly a popular one among the FIFA community.

Alphonso Davies not being rated in the top 20 full-backs in the game was also a big talking point, not to mention Timo Werner's downgrade after an incredible season for RB Leipzig, where he netted 34 goals in 45 appearances.

Maybe there is some truth to Lukaku's theory...
