Liverpool Fans Fume At Controversial VAR Call For Leicester's Equaliser

Liverpool were on the receiving end of one of the most controversial VAR calls of the season in the crushing 3-1 loss to Leicester City.
The Reds went 1-0 up through Mo Salah's glorious goal but conceded an equaliser in incredibly bizarre fashion just over ten minutes later.
Initially referee Anthony Taylor appeared to give a penalty for a foul on Harvey Barnes but the decision was then reversed for a free-kick on the edge of the area.
Set-piece specialist James Maddison whipped it all the way in but the flag went up for offside as Daniel Amartey had attempted to get on the end of it.

However, further VAR confusion ensued and the goal was then given as Roberto Firmino's foot was deemed to have played Amartey onside.
The VAR lines of course came out and Liverpool fans were utterly furious with the call, which saw Leicester pull level and go on to score another two goals in a chaotic seven minutes at the King Power Stadium.
You're not going to comvice me this is onside. VAR is a load of BS. #VAROut pic.twitter.com/BnCtO9GGEQ

These VAR refs are a joke. Cannot stand the injustice. It's happening far too often to us this season. The lines aren't even straight. His knee is ahead. Yet we get it against us more often than not. Also Mané was pushed to the ground with no foul given. Bin it off. pic.twitter.com/KZyrB385Sx

If anyone can make it clear to me where this blue line is drawn from which allows the attacker to be onside, please let me know. I have no qualms with marginal decisions going to attackers but the number of goals #lfc have had disallowed for this is galling #var pic.twitter.com/1w3EOz4Ahx

Just going to leave this here.
One of these is offside and one is onside.

Again as per every week VAR is not accurate enough. We've seen goals ruled out because the strikers elbow is offside, this one is taken from the shoulder. All the operator has to do is move the line a minute amount and can make it go either way pic.twitter.com/WMRBIUz0m6

@btsportfootball VAR's own lines show it's clearly offside!! Shocking decision again. pic.twitter.com/kk1yPzVo3v

No. Oh my god, they didn't give it as offside for his fingernails being off. Miracle at King Power Stadium pic.twitter.com/bIaPvD9N59

Jamie Vardy capitalised on a horrendous mix-up between debutant Ozan Kabak and goalkeeper Alisson Becker for his eighth goal against Liverpool, before Barnes sealed a sixth Premier League defeat of the season for the champions.
Liverpool are now fourth in the table, with Chelsea, West Ham and Everton breathing down their necks.
