Squad Player's Championship Wage Rise Proves What A Sham Aston Villa Really Are

How have they allowed this to happen?!

Aston Villa is our favourite car crash television right now, it's really hard to watch but you can't take your eyes off it. Think The Office just with more cringing. This latest debacle just pinpoints exactly how stupid things are down at Villa Park.

Villa are going into the Championship next season and you'd think a club who have finished 16th, 15th, 15th, 17th in the previous four Premier League seasons and had Tim Sherwood as manager at the beginning of the season might have realised that there was a possibility they might get relegated, well apparently not!

According to the Daily Mail fringe player and youth prospect Adama Traore, bought from Barcelona in the summer for £7 million, is due to get a wage increase to £60,000 for next season despite the club's relegation!

So that's a 20 year-old whose entire contribution to Villa's s**t sandwich of a season is 10 league appearances off the bench and one league cup start, which includes a goal, will be earning £60k-a-week whilst in the Championship!

Granted he's currently on £40k and that's bad enough but the clause in his contract that means his yearly increase is unaffected by relegation is moronic bordering on brain dead. But it could be worse because Traore's wage is set to go up to a massive and ridiculous £90k-a-week for the 2017/18 season by which time the Villains could easily be a League One side.

The soon to be second tier English side are apparently going to look for a buyer for their winger but good luck finding a team willing to spend so much on a 20 year old with limited experience. What the hell were they thinking with the deal to bring him into the club? Oh yeah, they clearly weren't!
