Fans genuinely can't believe what Aston Villa tweeted during England vs Belgium

Aston Villa's tweet during England vs. Belgium has been slammed by fans on social media.

Angry fans have slammed Aston Villa's official X account for what they posted during England vs. Belgium.

England played out a 2-2 draw with Belgium on Tuesday, having suffered a bruising 1-0 defeat to Brazil last weekend.

Belgium opened the scoring through Youri Tielemans, who latched onto a mistake from Jordan Pickford.

Ivan Toney levelled the proceedings from the spot as he scored his first England goal on his full international debut.

Romelu Lukaku set up Tielemans for Belgium's second goal as England fans took aim at one of their own players for his role in the build-up.

Jude Bellingham grabbed a late, late equaliser as he slotted home in injury time to save England's blushes.

Tielemans' brace, meanwhile, was celebrated by Villa, who praised their star midfielder on social media.

On X, the Premier League side posted a picture of the Belgium midfielder celebrating his goal, accompanied with the caption: "DU DU DU DU DU DU YOURI TIELEMANSSS."

But fans online took exception to the club's tweet as they made their feelings clear.

One X user exclaimed: "Why is Aston Villa account cheering on Belgium?"

A second wrote: "English club celebrating a foreign player scoring against their native country?"

A third slammed: "You’re an English club. Disgrace."

A fourth tweeted: "This is strange, wouldn’t see this in any other countries."

Another commented: "Playing against England, Odd."

Tielemans joined Villa last summer on a free transfer following the expiration of his Leicester City deal.

He's made 37 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring two goals.

Having started against West Ham United, the 26-year-old will be looking to keep his place in the starting XI when Villa resume their Premier League campaign against Wolves on Saturday.
