Arsenal Fan TV Forced To Rebrand After Discussions With Club

It will still be known as 'Arsenal Fan TV' but the popular Gunners YouTube fan channel is actually going by a slightly different name starting from this season.

The channel, founded spearheaded by Robbie Lyle since 2012, has become essential viewing not only for Arsenal fans but opposition fans because of the incredible post-match rants of regualrs Troopz, Claude, DT and Ty - though the latter is normally being blindly optimistic.

A browse of this weekend's channel lets you know that the content remains exactly the same but it will now be known as 'AFTV Media' going forward.

The change comes after the channel held discussions with people within the club and they are reported to have said the "unauthorised use" of Arsenal was having a negative impact.

Talk that Arsenal sent a cease and desist letter out is said to be wide of the mark yet the 'about' section on the YouTube page has been amended so the description reads as follows:

"AFTV is the No.1 Fan Channel on YouTube. It was set up by Arsenal Fans for Arsenal Fans. We get fans reactions to each game and show and talk about all things Arsenal.

"AFTV is not part of the official Arsenal Football Club. It is a platform where fans can voice their independent opinions on the greatest football club in the world."

AFTV is comfortably the leading football channel, boasting over 821,00 subscribers and an incredible 488,601,441 viewsacross the 9,100+ videos it has uploaded.

Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin had some very strong comments regarding the channel when he came to Oxford University Q&A last year.

"It's so wrong for someone who claims to be a fan and their success is fed off a failure. How can that be a fan?" Bellerin said.

"It's just people hustling, trying to make money their way, which everyone is entitled to do.If a coach comes to me and says you've done something bad I'm going to take that advice. If someone from Arsenal Fan TV says this guy needs to do this or that I'm not going to listen to him.

"They're entitled to their opinion, the way they want to do it. If people find it funny, then go watch it."
