Lionel Messi goes viral after taunting opposition coach in most brutal way

Messi scored twice as Inter Miami came from behind to secure a comeback victory over Orlando City.

Lionel Messi asked one of Orlando City's coaching staff if they wanted his autograph after the Argentine scored a trademark free-kick for Inter Miami in an entertaining Florida derby.

It looked like Orlando would stroll to their first victory of the MLS season on Sunday evening, when Marco Pasalic and Martin Ojeda gave the home side a deserved 2-0 lead after just 24 minutes.

Javier Mascherano's side needed some Messi magic if they wanted to pick up their first-ever away win against Orlando, and that's exactly what happened.

After substitute Mateo Silvetti let rip from 25 yards to make it 2-1, the inevitable Messi equalised with another shot from outside the box – his first goal of the new MLS season.

Telasco Segovia soon completed a memorable comeback in the 85th minute, with Messi setting up the Venezuelan, who only had to pass the ball into the net after a neat cutback from his teammate.

Then, in a scene we have seen so many times over the years, Messi capped off the win with a sublime 90th-minute free kick.

The 38-year-old proceeded to celebrate in front of the Orlando supporters before making a “sign” gesture towards the home bench, as if to ask a staff member if he wanted an autograph.

"Absolutely incredible from Messi: scores a free kick, squares up to the Orlando supporters’ section as he celebrates, then asks an Orlando City assistant coach if he wants his autograph," said The Guardian's Pablo Iglesias Maurer.

"The dude truly understands a rivalry, even in MLS."

It appears the gesture was aimed at Orlando's assistant coach, who exchanged words with Messi after the home side made it 2-0. Clearly, the Argentine was not best pleased with the incident.

Here's how fans on social media have reacted to Messi's actions during the Inter Miami game.

One said: "Messi scores a golazo and then asks an Orlando coach if he wants his autograph. Incredible rivalry. Elite trash talking. Inject this into my veins."

A second wrote: "Lionel Messi asking the opponent’s manager if he wants an autograph after scoring a free kick has to go down among the coldest moments of his career," and a third commented: "We finally get menace Messi."

A fourth added: "Messi just scored then ran over to the opposition bench and told them he’ll give them his autograph after the game…WHO IS THIS MAN???"
