Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham was seen in tears after watching Lionel Messi score a magnificent free-kick winner in his debut for the club.

The World Cup winner stepped onto the pitch for the first time in a Miami kit as the club took on Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup.

The reaction was absolutely thunderous for the 20,000+ inside the DRV PNK Stadium as he made his way onto the field in the 53rd minute.

Fans were treated to a silky display by the 36-year-old, who proved that even in the MLS he’s still the football GOAT.

But fans couldn’t have wished for a better moment to witness in the little magician's debut.

The number 10 was fouled just outside the area late in the game as scores were tied at 1-1.

It was the perfect position for Messi, and as we have seen so many times before the little magician stepped up and slotted the ball into the top corner.

You couldn’t write a better script for the Argentine to make his debut for the MLS side, proving once again why he is still the GOAT of the game.

David Beckham could be pictured on the sideline shaking his head in disbelief with tears coming from his eyes, as the Argentine had delivered a Beckham-esque moment.

The Englishman was all-to-familiar with curling one into the top corner in the dying moments of the game - but this moment still made him emotional.

Following the game, Beckham and Messi embraced on the sideline.

It was a genuine ‘I was there’ moment from one of the greatest sportsmen to ever compete.

He was joined by former Barcelona teammate Sergio Busquets as Miami who also made his debut.

Chants of ‘Messi, Messi, Messi’ could be heard across the stadium as those in attendance finally got to witness the moment they had all been waiting for.
