We need to talk about Memphis Depay's ice-cold penalty for Barcelona against Elche. It was absolutely unstoppable.

Barca came from a goal down to beat Elche 2-1 thanks to second-half strikes from Ferran Torres and Depay, who made no mistake from 12-yards.

VAR awarded Xavi's team a penalty late in their La Liga clash on Sunday, with Depay nonchalantly picking out the top corner with a thunderous strike.

The Dutchman only took a few steps before walloping the ball into top bins territory.

Barca fans online loved Depay's no-nonsense spot-kick.

A fourth commented: "MEMPHIS TOP CORNER! SHEER COLD."

Speaking about his penalty, he said: "I was clear about how I was going to take the penalty. I like to take them like that."

Depay has now scored in his last two games since returning from injury.

And his goal that helped his side secure three points moves them above Real Betis to third place in the table, with 48 points on the board.
