Bruno Fernandes sends Mason Mount 'angry' message as Man Utd transfer confirmed

United have announced the signing of Mount from Chelsea.

Bruno Fernandes has sent a cheeky welcome message to Mason Mount after his move to Manchester United from Chelsea was confirmed.

Mount, 24, has joined United on a five-year deal, with the option of a further year.

United have paid an initial £55m fee for the England international with a potential further £5m to be paid to Chelsea in add-ons.

"It's never easy leaving the club where you grew up, but Manchester United will provide an exciting new challenge for the next phase of my career," Mount told United's website after his move was confirmed.

"Having competed against them, I know just how strong a squad it is that I'm joining, and I can't wait to be part of this group's drive to win major trophies.

"Everyone can see that the club has made big steps forward under Erik ten Hag. Having met with the manager and discussed his plans, I couldn't be more excited for the seasons ahead, and am ready for the hard work expected here.

"I am hugely ambitious; I know how amazing it feels to win major trophies and what it takes to do it. I will be giving everything to experience that again at Manchester United."

Fernandes sends 'angry' message to Mount

United vice-captain Fernandes was the first Old Trafford player to react to the news of Mount's arrival, sending him a cheeky message on Instagram.

Posting two pictures of himself and Mount in tense interactions on the football pitch, Fernandes posted: "Why did you take so long to sign?", followed by the angry-face emoji.

The Portugal international then followed it up with a more welcoming message which included the strong-arm emoji, tagging the England midfielder.

Mount leaves boyhood club Chelsea having made 279 appearances for the west London club, scoring 58 goals and contributing 53 assists.

During his time at Stamford Bridge he won the Champions League in 2021 and was Chelsea's Player of the Year for both the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons.

Mount will be looking to add more silverware to his collection this season at United, who face Leeds in their opening pre-season friendly on July 12.

Erik ten Hag's side take on Wolves in their first game of the new Premier League season on August 14.
