Marcelo set to leave Olympiacos after just TWO months

Marcelo set to leave Olympiacos after just TWO months

Marcelo joined the Greek club only in September.

Marcelo is set to leave Olympiacos after just TWO months, with the Greek giants 'fed up' over his fitness issues and on-field performances.

The 34-year-old only arrived at the club in September following a trophy-laden, 15-year spell at Real Madrid.

He opted for Olympiacos, having briefly been linked with a shock move to the Premier League with Leicester City.

But it appears his stint in Greece is coming to an end as reports suggest Olympiacos are growing frustrated at the superstar player.

That's according to FootMercato, via BeFootball, who claim the Greek side are 'fed up' with the left-back being unable to play more than 30 minutes per game.

He's made just five appearances in all competitions for his new team, with all of his outings coming from the bench.

The report also adds that Olympiacos are unhappy with his failure to raise his fitness levels.

Marcelo now finds himself surplus to requirements, with Olympiacos boss Michel hoping to move him on as soon as possible.

Michel won't be including Marcelo in his plans for the second half of the season as they currently occupy fourth spot in the Greek Superleague table, 12 points adrift of league leaders Panathinaikos.

It is also believed that Marcelo has an offer to call time on his storied career and return to Real to become the club's global ambassador.

There's also interest from Brazilian clubs if he wants to prolong his career.

Despite his fitness issues, Marcelo would bring a wealth of experience having enjoyed a stunning spell at Real.

He made 546 appearances for the La Liga team, winning an impressive five Champions League titles during his time in Spain.

He also won 58 international caps for Brazil, winning the Confederations Cup in 2013.
