Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Ince has encouraged Erik ten Hag to sign Juventus forward Federico Chiesa.

After missing almost a year of football because of a cruciate ligament rupture, Chiesa has finally returned to the field for Juventus.

He initially joined the Old Lady from Fiorentina in 2020 on a two-year loan deal which was made permanent in the summer, costing the Italian giants £35million.

When fit, his versatility and direct style of play has been a huge weapon for the Serie A giants. He can play on both flanks and down the middle, scoring 19 goals and providing 16 assists in 69 appearances for Juventus.

The winger also impressed at Euro 2020 and was named in the Team of the Tournament after helping Italy to victory over England in the final at Wembley.

Ince: United fans would love him

Juventus were recently docked 15 points in Serie A following an investigation into the club's past transfer business, with the club accused of fixing their balance sheets by artificial gains from transfers.

The Italian club deny any wrongdoing and have launched an appeal against the points deduction.

But the controversy surrounding the deduction and its potential financial implications has led the speculation that the club could be forced the club to sell some of their star players.

Former Manchester United midfielder Ince believes the Red Devils should consider making a move for Chiesa.

He told BoyleSports: "Federico Chiesa has only just started playing for Juventus again after a long-term injury but prior to that he was unplayable. The intensity is very different in Italy compared to England.

"When I went to Inter Milan I thought it was going to be tough for me, I didn't know if I could get away with my playing style at Inter but it worked out ok.

"If Chiesa was to come to Man United then I think the fans would love him. I've seen him play on numerous occasions and he'd be a perfect, perfect fit for Man United."
