Real Madrid planning to poach Manchester United star, he would be a huge loss

He's been excellent this season.

Real Madrid could be looking to make a move for Manchester United's Marcus Rashford in the next summer transfer window.

Rashford, who has been in excellent form recently, scored twice in England's final group game against Wales earlier this week.

He also scored against Iran in the first game after coming on as a substitute.

The 25-year-old kicked off his career under Louis van Gaal back in 2016 and has since made over 300 appearances for United and scored over 100 goals.

Madrid could come for Rashford in the new year

It would be quite a ludicrous time to sell the forward considering Cristiano Ronaldo has just left the club and United's attacking options are already looking thin.

However, if Rashford is Madrid's Mbappe alternative they could throw in an offer United cannot refuse.

According to a report from Fichajes, Rashford is on Madrid's transfer radar and the European champions could be looking to prepare a move in the summer.

Rashford has a contract with United until 2024, however, the club has the option to extend.

Fabrizio Romano reported earlier this week that United are ready to offer the English forward a long term deal.

He tweeted: "Three goals in three World Cup games for Marcus Rashford - looks completely different player in the last few months. #Qatar2022

"Current deal expires in June 2023;

"Man United have option to extend until June 2024;

"…but Man United will offer him new long term deal."
