Turkish Super Lig planning their next huge signing after Mo Salah as Real Madrid star targeted

Another Turkish top-flight team are pursuing a shock transfer from a European giant, aiming to make one of Real Madrid's most promising talents the Super Lig's next major signing.

Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah has now completed his move to Super Lig side Trabzonspor, where he was treated to a rapturous welcome ahead of the new season.

In the capital, the big three are taking notice.

Like rivals Galatasaray and Besiktas, Fenerbahce don't need much encouragement to chase after big names. The Istanbul club have reportedly set their sights on the Bernabeu and are ready to challenge Serie A duo Fiorentina and Roma for the services of Brazilian forward Endrick.

The 20-year-old appears to be keeping his options open since the return as manager of Jose Mourinho. After a loan to Ligue 1 with Lyon last season, Endrick is expected to head out on loan again between now and the end of the transfer window.

According to Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, the player has even informed Real Madrid of his wish to leave the club entirely.

TRT Spor's Fenerbahce correspondent Doruk Tecimer reports that Endrick's management have been approached by Fenerbahce but suggests that a tangible deal is not yet in the works.

"Endrick, who wears the Real Madrid shirt, was asked about his conditions," Tecimer posted on X.

"The Spanish club has no issues, but the player's priority is the Premier League. Talks are ongoing."

Various sources have suggested throughout the summer that part of Endrick's demands for a loan move away from Real Madrid will be a guarantee of playing time, a criterion that's unlikely to be met by the leading clubs with good squad depth that the Brazilian would surely like to join.

Endrick joined Real Madrid from Sao Paulo club Palmeiras in 2024. To date, the young forward has made 40 appearances for Los Blancos in all competitions, almost exclusively in 2024-25.

He was loaned to Lyon halfway through last season and went on to play 16 times in Ligue 1, scoring five times, and has been a relative regular for Brazil under former Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti in 2026.

Ancelotti named Endrick in his 26-man squad for the World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico, and featured from the substitutes' in four of Brazil's matches against Haiti, Scotland, Japan and Norway.

Despite speculation about his future, Endrick started and scored in Real Madrid's pre-season friendly match against Fiorentina in Austria on Saturday.

Salah move sparks Super Lig interest

The recruitment strategies of Turkey's biggest clubs have been through a number of fascinating periods over the years.

Indeed, Fenerbahce themselves have Matteo Guendouzi, Marco Asensio, Mason Greenwood, Nathan Ake and Diego Carlos in a squad that was already bursting at the seams before the more recent acquisitions of N'Golo Kante in February and Amara Diouf in June.

Salah moving to another of Turkey's clubs has fuelled wider interest in what the Super Lig's sporting directors and managers are up to but it's unlikely that any of them will pull off a more surprising transfer in the current window.
