Man Utd suffer injury blow ahead of Leeds United clash with SEVEN players now ruled out of the match

Manchester United have suffered a major injury blow.

Manchester United have suffered a major injury blow ahead of their mid-week Premier League clash against Leeds United.

Erik ten Hag’s side continued their run of good form on Saturday with a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace. The victory saw United move to within just three points of rivals Manchester City, and eight points from table toppers Arsenal.

Indeed, the Old Trafford club can go level with their city rivals should they beat Leeds this evening.

The Whites make the journey west having sacked Jesse Marsch following Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest.

In turn, Chris Armas, who was assistant to Ralf Rangnick during the German’s ill-fated spell at United, will take temporary charge of the Yorkshire club for the Premier League encounter.

Armas’ side, who could climb as high as 14th with a win, may fancy their chances given United will be going into the game seriously depleted.

United’s injuries

Antony has been ruled out of the United’s clash with Leeds, becoming the seventh senior player absent from Ten Hag’s squad for the Premier League clash.

The Brazilian was pushed into the advertising boards by Palace’s Jeffrey Schlupp during United's win over the Eagles and appeared to leave the pitch in some discomfort moments later.

Antony’s compatriot Casemiro will also be absent after receiving a straight red in the subsequent melee for putting his hands around the neck of Palace midfielder Will Hughes.

Elsewhere, Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay remain sidelined due to their respective knocks.

Ten Hag said in his pre-match press conference: “They [Martial and McTominay] are not involved tomorrow.

"And the same with Antony dos Santos. He is also not available for tomorrow so we have to sort that out."

United are also missing Donny van de Beek, who has been ruled out for the remainder of the season, while Christian Eriksen is not expected to return to action until at least late April.

Palace loanee Jack Butland has also been ruled out against Leeds.
