WHAT NEXT FOR UNITED?

Manchester United face another Spanish side, Real Betis, in a second mid-season friendly on Saturday.

Erik ten Hag's side will then return to competitive action against Burnley in the Carabao Cup round of 16 on December 21.

They will then make their Premier League return at home to Nottingham Forest on December 27.

FULL-TIME!!!

And that's that!

United's youngsters put up a good fight in the second half but it was not enough, with Cadiz running out 4-2 winners.

Nevertheless, some vital first-team experience for United's youngsters.

CHANCE!

86 - A sloppy pass from Cadiz goalkeeper Gil almost lets McNeill in but he is tackled before he can get a shot away. Time running out for the visitors.

FOUL!

82 - United give the ball away again and Fredericson is forced to bring his opponent down as Cadiz look to break. It would have been a certain yellow in a competitive game but he avoids a booking, with only a few minutes left in the match.

SHOT!

80 - Savage has a go from the edge of the box but his tame shot is easily saved by Cadiz goalkeeper Gil.

GOAL!!!! CADIZ 4-2 MAN UTD

75 - United give the ball away cheaply in their own half and are made to pay when Alarcon fires the ball into the top corner. Dubravka got a hand to it but couldn't keep it out. Could that be the game?

NO PENALTY!

72 - United goalscorer Mainoo regains possession and then goes down in the box after a Cadiz defender leaves a leg hanging. Hard to see if there was contact but the referee hasn't given a penalty. Better from the visitors though.

INJURY!

69 - We now have a break in play, with Cadiz goalscorer Garcia down on the turf. He was caught by a painful challenge on the edge of his own box but looks like he should be fine to continue.

SHOT!

67 - A brilliant crossfield ball sets up yet another Cadiz attack. Eventually a shot comes in but it's well wide of United's goal. Ten Hag's young side are struggling to create much going forward against their more experienced opponents.

CHANCE!!

63 - Cadiz get in down the left once again. Former Arsenal forward Perez floats a nice ball into the box but Sobrino can only direct his header over Dubvraka's bar.

GOALLL!!!!! CADIZ 3-2 MAN UTD

56 - The home side are back in front! Sobrino volleys in at the far post to restore Cadiz's lead. He looked slightly offside but the flag didn't go up. Just in case you were wondering, there's no VAR in this match to check.

CHANCE!!

54 - A huge error from Dubravka almost gifts Cadiz a goal. He loses control a high ball and spills it inside his six-yard box but gets lucky, with a teammate managing to clear.

BROWN: UNITED NEED TO BE BETTER

Former Manchester United defender Wes Brown admits Erik ten Hag's side were not good enough in the first half.

He told MUTV: "We need to pick the pace up a little bit and make a few more moves.

"You can see when we do try and play, we can cut them open. But we need to be quicker and not as sloppy."
