Manchester United are reportedly confident that they can pull off a stunning summer move for Tottenham Hotspur’s England captain Harry Kane.

Kane’s future is the talk of the town again after Spurs’ last realistic hope of winning a trophy ended with a defeat against Sheffield United in the FA Cup.

It is been reported that if Spurs fail to qualify for the Champions League this season, Kane may look to seek a move elsewhere.

According to The Sun, United are increasingly confident of securing Kane’s signature if Spurs finish outside of the top four in the Premier League.

It has been reported that the Old Trafford club believe Spurs will lower their asking price of £100 million if they are not in the Champions League next season.

In addition, United are also believed to have made contact with Kane’s representatives through a third party and the response was positive.

At the moment, Spurs are still in pole position to qualify for Europe’s elite competition as they currently sit fourth in the Premier League table.

However, they will have the likes of Liverpool, Newcastle and Brighton hot on their heels for the remainder of the season.

If they do fail to finish in the top four, their only hope of qualifying is to win this season’s edition, but they have to come from 1-0 down against AC Milan if they are to advance to the quarter-finals.

30-year-old Kane’s Spurs contract is set to expire in 2024 and there are rising concerns that he might leave for free if no contract extension is agreed.

Back in January, Kane spoke about his future, he said: “There’s not been much talk. I’m sure there will be conversations over the coming months but I’m just focused on this season and doing my best.

“I know there are going to be rumours about my future but I’m focused on what I can do.”

Where will Kane be playing football next season? Only time will tell.
