Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.

United boss Erik ten Hag is in a race against the clock as he looks to add to his attacking options. Having seen the club walk away from a deal to sign Bologna’s former West Ham striker Marko Arnautovic and RB Salzburg forward Benjamin Sesko choosing to join RB Leipzig, the options are starting to run out for the Dutchman.

Morata could be an option that is worth pursuing due to his previous experience in the Premier League.

The Spanish international has one year left on his current deal at the Wanda Metropolitano but it has been reported that Atletico are willing to part ways if a suitable offer comes in.

According to ESPN, United have now have offered the former Chelsea striker with Atletico manager Diego Simeone willing to let Morata leave.

Morata first came to the Premier League back in 2017, having believed he was joining United, he ended up at Chelsea after the Red Devils hijacked the Stamford Bridge club’s move for Romelu Lukaku.

The Spaniard has a rather impressive cv having spent his entire career at some of the biggest clubs in world football, including the likes of Chelsea, Juventus, Real Madrid and Atletico.

However, he has never found a club where he could establish himself as the main man. In the last two seasons, he has been on loan at Juventus.

United are in the market for a striker as they look for a back up to Anthony Martial and Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo’s future remains up in the air after his transfer plea last month, but the Old Trafford club’s stance remains unchanged, the five time Ballon d’Or winner is not for sale.

Meanwhile, United are closing in on a deal to bring Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot to the club, a fee has been agreed between the two clubs. Personal terms are now being discussed between club officials and the player’s representatives.

Contact between Adrien and ten Hag was positive but salary still being discussed.

It is shaping up to be a busy end to the transfer window for United. Who will they bring in? Only time will tell.
