Atletico Madrid have named their price for Conor Gallagher amid links with Manchester United.

After an 18-year career with his boyhood club, Gallagher left Chelsea in August 2024 to join Atletico Madrid for a reported fee of around £34million, with Joao Felix going the other way.

The England international has since made 69 appearances for the La Liga side, scoring six goals and assisting another six.

However, recent report have suggested that the 25-year-old could be on the move once again in the coming months, with United among the Premier League sides said to be interested.

And now, the exact amount of money that United would likely have to pay in order to secure Gallagher's signature has been revealed.

As the January transfer window approaches, it's become clear that United are considering adding new midfield options to their squad.

Having reportedly considered making a last minute move for Gallagher towards the end of the summer transfer window, it is now believed that United could renew their interest in the England star next month.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, a transfer fee of just £26m could be enough to convince Atletico to sell Gallagher.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, the journalist claimed: "I think there is a chance for Conor Gallagher to leave Atletico Madrid already in the January transfer window or eventually in the summer.

"This will depend also on the formula of the deal. Manchester United were interested in Conor Gallagher as an opportunity in the final days of August but Atletico said no to a loan move and they don’t have that kind of intention.

"I think if maybe a permanent transfer proposal arrives, that would be different. Maybe something around 30 million euros (£26m), sources say that this good be the way to get Conor Gallagher in the January transfer window."

Manchester United fans clash over Conor Gallagher links

But, with Gallagher currently frozen out of the Atletico Madrid squad, starting just three games this season for Diego Simeone’s side, United fans are split about signing him.

Reacting to the news, popular United fan Mark Goldbridge said: "I've always said that we need a midfielder in January and it won't be the star midfielder that we're going to have to get in the summer.

"So if I see Conor Gallagher sign for Crystal Palace or Spurs and we sign nobody, that's a bloody joke.

"Ideally it's a loan...but if its a choice between no midfielder or £26 million on Conor Gallagher then I'll spend the £26 million!"

However, not all fans agree, with one writing: "Unless Bruno and Casemiro have 2 broken legs each he ain't getting in the side."

And another adding: "I would rather wait until summer than spend that on Gallagher.......for loan why not."
