Manchester United and Spurs are competing against one another for the same manager, reports claim.
Both clubs, who contested the Europa League final last season, currently have coaches but it's claimed they are exploring the possibility of making a change at the top.
Though pressure has eased slightly on Ruben Amorim after a comeback win over Crystal Palace, there is still a huge problem with consistency at United as well as their style of play.
Thomas Frank only took the reins at Spurs in the summer following the dismissal of Ange Postecoglou but initial positivity has faded, with Spurs now 12th in the table after suffering a fifth defeat of the season against Fulham on Saturday night.

Spurs have won just one game at home in the league and pressure is piling on Frank, with odds slashed on a replacement.

According to a report from Fichajes, "the board is considering a change if there are no improvements before the end of December" and both Spurs and United have their eyes set on former Barcelona player and manager Xavi Hernandez as they see him as the "ideal coach to lead a new phase".
Xavi has been out of management since his sacking from Barcelona in 2024 but is believed to be ready to return to the dugout and is interested in managing in the Premier League.

Though there is no direct contact at this time, Xavi is understood to be appealing to both if results do not improve as he "offers a long-term project, an offensive approach, and a proposal centered around possession".
Xavi's feelings clear on Man Utd
`In terms of his requests, the Catalan wants "a stable project where he can apply his style". But it would appear that Xavi would favour the United job given his well-documented admiration for the 13-time Premier League champions.
In September, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, has said that Xavi would "immediately" accept an offer to coach United even without European football.

Xavi was strongly linked to United in his decorated playing career and considered accepting a proposal from the Old Trafford giants, who he described as potentially "my club".
"There was a long time when I genuinely thought about accepting United’s offer," he said in 2011 as per ESPN.
"I needed a change of scenery and things were not going well for me at Barcelona. I have always felt a real attachment to English football and Manchester United would be ‘my club’ there."
