Manchester United attempted Paris Saint Germain’s kick off routine but it went horribly wrong

United came out 2-1 winners at Old Trafford against Liverpool.

Manchester United tried Paris Saint Germain’s kick off routine during their match against Liverpool but it didn’t go to plan.

Erik ten Hag’s side were so much better on Monday night as they produced a stellar performance. Goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford secured a much needed 2-1 win for the Red Devils.

Sancho gave United the lead after he sat James Milner down with some mesmerising skills before cooly slotting the ball into the back of the net.

In the second half, Rashford got his name on the score sheet as he was perfectly played through by Anthony Martial.

Mohamed Salah scored in the 81st minute to set up a grand stand finish but United’s defence held firm as Liverpool ran out of ideas.

Jurgen Klopp’s side now find themselves 16th in the Premier League table and are still without a win. They were on the back foot from minute one as United simply wanted it more.

However, despite the good performance, one moment caught the eyes of many fans.

PSG produced a sublime kick off routine on Sunday evening against Lille that saw Lionel Messi play an incredible pass for Kylian Mbappe to score after just eight seconds.

United tried that in the second half, but it went horribly wrong.

Bruno Fernandes played the ball to Scott McTominay, who invited pressure from Liverpool players before passing back to Fernandes

The Portuguese then gave the ball to Christian Eriksen, who was tasked with playing a ball for the attackers up field. However, the lay off by Fernandes was poor and it resulted in Liverpool gaining back the possession of the ball.

Fans were quick to react to the failed attempt by United.

One fan said: “United just tried to do THE kick off and messed it up didn’t they.”

Another added: “Man United just tried that Kick-Off routine, it backfired.”

A third fan said: “United tried the kick off glitch. You ain’t got the facilities for that.”

Nevertheless, it was a much needed win for Ten Hag and his side as they managed to collect their first points of the season and get themselves above Liverpool.

Problems are starting to arise at Anfield, Klopp has a huge jobs in his hands now to stabilise his team.

Next up for Klopp and Liverpool, Bournemouth at home this weekend.
