Manchester United have been linked with a loan move for Dutch attacker Xavi Simons and Erik ten Hag has already given his verdict on the PSG player.
United are in the midst of their first summer transfer window under the new INEOS minority ownership of the Old Trafford club, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe in control of more than 25% and having complete say over transfer dealings and football operations following a takeover which was confirmed earlier this year.
Question marks stood over Ten Hag's future following the end of the season, despite United's FA Cup final victory over Manchester City, due to the club's worst finish in the Premier League era of eighth.
Following a strategic review, United opted to keep faith with Ten Hag and recently activated an option on his contract to extend the Dutchman's time at the club to the summer of 2026.

With the management question resolved, attentions have since turned to the United squad and improving it, with a couple of transfer deals appearing to be well on the way to being concluded.
Striker Joshua Zirkzee has undergone a medical following United agreeing a reported £33.7m fee with Bologna for the Dutch international and appears set to be the club's first new signing of the summer.
As well as this, United are reported to have agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt, with the German club seeking around £42m for the centre half's services.

But another player United could sign this summer to bolster their squad is Netherlands and PSG attacker Simons, who scored for the Dutch in their Euro 2024 semi-final defeat to England.
According to the Mirror, United are weighing up whether to make a loan move for Simons, which PSG are reported to be open to, but only with an obligation to buy him next summer.
And Ten Hag appears to be an admirer of Simons, judging by recent comments from the United boss about the 21-year-old and his performance against the Three Lions.
He said: "I enjoyed Xavi Simons in that game. The drive he has, the passion with which he conquers balls and recognises situations are top.

"His enormous drive as well. That is almost un-Dutch.
"I think you can see that he was trained abroad. He almost has a southern European doggedness in his game."
The training Ten Hag refers to with Simons is him coming through the youth teams ranks at Barcelona, before he was bought by PSG in 2019, and he spent last season on loan at RB Leipzig.
