Alejandro Garnacho has appeared to make his feelings clear after Mason Mount was handed the number seven shirt at Manchester United.

After weeks of speculation, United announced on Wednesday morning that they have completed the deal to take Mount to Old Trafford from Chelsea.

On the back of the confirmation, United also announced that Mount will wear the number seven shirt for the Red Devils.

Over the last few months, there have been rumours that Garnacho was going to be handed the number seven shirt ahead of the new season, with United even teasing fans last month but that will no longer be the case.

After United posted on Instagram confirming Mount as the new number seven, fans spotted Garnacho reacting to it.

On Twitter, one fan wrote: “Garnacho likes post of Mason Mount being Manchester United's new no.7. He clearly won't have any issues with it so I don't understand why some United fans have a problem with it.”

It seems that Garnacho will continue wearing the number 49 for the foreseeable future.

Upon signing for the club, Mount told the club’s official website: “It’s never easy leaving the club where you grew up, but Manchester United will provide an exciting new challenge for the next phase of my career. Having competed against them, I know just how strong a squad it is that I’m joining, and I can’t wait to be part of this group’s drive to win major trophies.

“Everyone can see that the club has made big steps forward under Erik ten Hag. Having met with the manager and discussed his plans, I couldn’t be more excited for the seasons ahead, and am ready for the hard work expected here.”

He added: “I am hugely ambitious; I know how amazing it feels to win major trophies and what it takes to do it. I will be giving everything to experience that again at Manchester United.”
