Newcastle United and Man City play out six-goal thriller, game ends 3-3

What a match.

Newcastle United and Manchester City played out a six-goal thriller in a brilliant advert for the Premier League.

The points were shared at St James' Park as Newcastle and Man City drew 3-3 on Sunday.

The visitors opened the scoring in just the fifth minute after Ilkay Gundogan slotted home from close range.

But Miguel Almiron levelled proceedings when Allan Saint-Maximin brilliantly picked him out in the 28th minute.

The dazzling French winger then found Callum Wilson, who made no mistake in front of goal to put his side in the lead before the break.

In the second half, Kieran Trippier converted a spectacular free-kick to improve their lead.

However, the Blues hit back in sensational fashion - scoring two goals in the space of four minutes.

Erling Haaland pulled one back after finding himself in the right position, smashing home to bag his third league goal of the season.

Kevin De Bruyne then pierced an outrageous pass to set up Bernardo Silva, who scored to make it 3-3.

Pep Guardiola's team drop points for the first time in the new season and occupy second place in the table.

As for Eddie Howe's side, they sit in sixth place and remain unbeaten from their opening three league matches.
