Manchester City fans mocked for lack of limbs inside the stadium after winning the treble

Manchester City fans mocked for lack of limbs inside the stadium after winning the treble

Fans have reacted to the full-time scenes.

Manchester City fans have been mocked for their celebrations at full-time in the Champions League final which saw the club clinch an historic treble.

City were crowned European champions for the first time ever on Saturday, and became just the second English team in history to win the treble after beating Inter Milan 1-0.

A 68th-minute goal from Rodri was enough to separate the two sides and despite Inter having a perfect chance late on to equalise, Pep Guardiola’s men held on.

The goalscorer told BT Sport: “I’m emotional, it’s a dream come true.

“I don't want to forget about the lads, I mean we give everything. My head was in the clouds, it was an unbelievable effort from everyone.”

The victory was long awaited for all the players and staff involved with this being the one trophy that has eluded the club since Guardiola took charge back in 2016.

Man City fan celebrations

Fans celebrated alike in the stands, but were mocked by some for being too tame given their side had just made history.

One Man Utd fan tweeted a video of fans celebrating with a sarcastic caption: “Full-time and Manchester City fans go wild after winning the treble.”

Another United supporter replied: "None of them look thrilled. No jumping up and down. That's not celebrating."

And a third fan said: "LOL what a joke."

City supporters were quick to defend themselves and called out the fan for being jealous of what their rivals had just achieved.

One said: “Past midnight and we’re all they think about.”

Another tweeted: “You’re obsessed,", with a third fan saying: "You're obsessed about little City."

United are the only other English team to reach the feat of winning the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League in a single season.

They did so back in 1999 but it has now been matched by a City team that will go down as one of the greatest sides ever.
