Neco Williams has not reported for pre-season training at Liverpool, amid rumours that he has agreed a deal to move to a new Premier League side.

Williams spent the second half of last season on loan at Fulham as the Cottagers won the Championship title and thus promotion back to the top flight.

Despite impressing on his stint away, Liverpool have signed another right-back in Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen for £6.5 million.

The Scotsman is expected to fill the role of providing cover and competition for first-choice Trent Alexander-Arnold.

This leaves Williams surplus to requirements at Anfield and the Welshman has sparked plenty of interest from Premier League clubs already this summer.

While Fulham are keen to secure the player on a permanent basis, it’s believed that another newly promoted side, Nottingham Forest, are the favourites for his signature.

According to Football Insider, a source close to Forest has told them that “they have tabled a lucrative long-term contract offer to Williams that he has agreed in principle.”

And now despite being listed as an expected arrival for the beginning of Liverpool’s pre-season training on Monday, Williams was not present.

With the Premier League campaign kicking off in a month’s time, the clock is ticking for Liverpool to complete their remaining business.

After completing their incoming business early in the window, with Ramsay, Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho arriving, Jurgen Klopp has turned his attention to outgoings.

The likes of Sadio Mane, Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi have already been offloaded, but there are reportedly a handful of other players the Merseyside club want to either loan or let go of permanently.

One of these is Williams, who has supposedly been given a £15 million price tag.

While Forest may have agreed personal terms with the player, there are reports that suggest that they have previously been reluctant to meet this asking price.

As a result of this reticence, this is one that could drag on until the latter stages of the window.
