Real Madrid now also want to sign Liverpool transfer target Serge Gnabry from Bayern Munich, according to Sky Sports.

Following their domestic and European success in the recently concluded 2021/22 campaign it is evident Los Blancos want to solidify their dominance for years to come with a strong summer transfer window.

Real Madrid’s decision for a diverse goalscoring winger comes after the failure to sign Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint Germain this summer. The transaction of the world's most talented and prolific youngster looked to be done and dusted, only for the Paris number 7 to extend his stay with the reigning Ligue 1 champions. The 23 year old’s new contract comes in at around £1M a week with a signing on fee in the ball park of £100M. This forced Real to look elsewhere for reinforcements, with Gnabry being the favourite for the move.

It was recently revealed that Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich would be willing to let their star winger go this summer for a price of £34M (€40M) if he does not wish to extend his contract.

This sparked great interest from FA Cup winners Liverpool, as they are seeking reinforcements in the final third given they are set to lose two of their forwards Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

If Liverpool were to lose out on signing the German international to Real Madrid it would be another blow at the hands of Ancelotti's side in a matter of weeks.

With Bayern Munich’s low asking price for the German Winger, the 2018/19 Bayern Munich player of the season looks ever the more likely to join Los Blancos as Real look to strengthen their already capable and prosperous side.
