Barcelona Make Major Promise To Salah To Lure Him To Camp Nou

Barcelona have made Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah a guarantee that he will be part of their new-look project if he decides to refrain from signing a contract extension with the reds, according to the Metro.

The Egyptian enjoyed another successful season for Liverpool this year, winning both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup in dramatic fashion. In terms of his personal accolades, Salah also scooped up the Premier League Golden Boot for the third time in his career (sharing the award with Heung Min Son on this occasion) after scoring an impressive 23 goals.

However the Premier League giants were unsuccessful in their search for the unprecedented quadruple after losing the Champions League final to Real Madrid and being pipped to the league title by rivals Man City by a single point.

After 5 impressive years at Anfield, Salah’s future at the club has become the subject of intense speculation, and his reluctance to put pen to paper on a new deal has only added to the transfer saga.

Speaking ahead of the Champions League final in Paris last week, Salah confirmed it was his intention to remain at Liverpool, at the least for the immediate future.

He said: ‘I don’t want to talk about the contract now, I’m staying next season for sure, that’s clear’.

Salah would be available on a free transfer in the 2023 summer if he did decide to stay in England for the season and run down his contract. The Spanish and European giants are in pole position to sign the winger.

After being appointed manager in November 2021, Xavi somewhat revived the Catalan’s season after they looked to be in a tricky situation. With Robert Lewandowski set to sign from Bayern Munich, and the Ruben Neves transfer on the horizon, there are few more promising projects in world football for Mohamed Salah than that of Xavi’s Barcelona team.
