Liverpool and Man United want £200k-a-week star - Klopp been chasing for some time

Liverpool and Man United want £200k-a-week star - Klopp been chasing for some time

Liverpool want to sign Inter Milan's Marcelo Brozovic

Liverpool’s midfield has been a key area of weakness to date this season, and the Reds are said to be looking at an experienced Serie A midfielder to nullify this issue.

And that player is Inter Milan’s Marcelo Brozovic, who was tentatively linked with a move to Anfield over the summer and has been in the sights of the Reds for some time.

As per Fichajes, Liverpool are prepared to make an offer for Brozovic, who earns nearly £200,000 per week.

Whether an offer would tempt the Croatian midfielder into a Premier League move is up for debate.

He currently has four years left on his contract at Inter Milan and is on a very high wage

At Inter he is also a guaranteed starter, whereas at Liverpool as a defensive midfielder he’d be competing with Fabinho for a starting role.

A move to Liverpool for Marcelo Brozovic come the reopening of the transfer window in January would thus appear unlikely, especially considering Liverpool aren’t alone in their pursuit of the player.

Ligue 1 giants PSG and a key rival of Liverpool’s, Manchester United, are also said to be interested in signing the player.

Reports have also suggested Liverpool are said to be interested in signing a younger profile of midfielder, reports which don’t align with Liverpool’s interest in a 29-year-old Brozovic.

The Reds have been heavily linked with the likes of Jude Bellingham and Moises Caicedo for quite some time now, young players who suit the engine room evolution Liverpool need.

Jürgen Klopp already has plenty of experience in the position in the form of the likes of Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Thiago, and James Milner.

Liverpool’s focus going forward appears to be fixated upon bringing in more youthful stars who can learn from these players.

Thus, while Liverpool might be keeping tabs on Marcelo Brozovic’s situation at Inter, it’d appear more likely they’ll look elsewhere as they attempt to refresh their midfield over the coming transfer windows.
