'True Superstar' - Harvey Elliott Reveals Which Liverpool Signing Has Fit In Well

Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott believes the club have signed a ‘true superstar’ in Fabio Carvalho, after being impressed by the new addition in pre-season training.

Carvalho arrived from Fulham in May for a reported fee of £5 million, potentially rising to £7.7 million with add-ons.

This deal came after the 19-year-old helped the Cottagers to promotion to the Premier League after enjoying an excellent campaign, scoring 11 goals in 38 appearances.

This form also earned the youngster a call-up to Portugal’s under 21-squad in March, where he has now made four appearances and scored twice.

It’s understood that Liverpool faced plenty of competition for the midfielder, and were able to convince him to move to Anfield with the promise of significant game time next season to aid his development.

Carvalho’s new team-mate Elliott also joined the Reds at a young age from Fulham and was full of praise for the newest addition to the club from West London.

Speaking to Liverpool’s official website, Elliott said: “We’ve had a few chats and he’s asked me a few questions and stuff."

"He’s a great kid as well as a great player and hopefully we get to see it in a couple of days’ time."

“I can’t say enough about him. I’ve said it so many times, I’ll just let him do the talking – which I’m sure he will do.

“He’s buzzing to be here, he fits in really well with the boys. I’ve done what I could to help him but, to be honest, I didn’t really need to help him."

"He’s just fit in and everyone’s taken to him already."

“What a player, by the way. So yeah, we have a true superstar on our hands to say the least and I can’t wait to just share the pitch with him and, like the old times, play alongside him, which will be good.”

While Elliot arrived in the North West having only made three appearances for the Fulham first team, Carvalho arrives from a place of relative experience to his counterpart.

There have been no suggestions that a loan is on the cards and he’s expected to come straight in and get regular minutes at the highest level.
