Harvey Elliott has had a season to forget at Aston Villa this season while on loan from Liverpool, as he has only made nine appearances.
The reason behind his limited minutes is the unwillingness for Villa to sign the Englishman on a permanent basis, as in the loan deal there is an obligation to buy the midfielder for a fee of £35 million if he had made 10 Premier League appearances.
Elliott is set to return to the Reds upon the end of the campaign, but his future remains up in the air, as it does not appear he will be remaining at Anfield long-term.
The 23-year-old will be exploring his options, and it appears there may be a lifeline before the summer window opens, and it may be a fine chance for him to keep playing at the elite level.

According to BILD, RB Leipzig are exploring the option of bringing Elliott to the Bundesliga to play for them next season.

The newspaper reports that the Liverpool midfielder’s name is ‘being discussed internally’ by the German club; however, it depends on whether they can sign a player they currently have on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion.
Brajan Gruda made a significant impact for the Bundesliga club and has helped them qualify for the Champions League next season.
However, there was no option to buy the midfielder in the loan deal with Brighton, and so it is not guaranteed that they will make him a permanent fixture of their club.
So, this has led RB Leipzig to explore different options who could fill the void he will leave in the summer, and this has led them to Elliott.
According to BILD, RB Leipzig are exploring signing the Liverpool midfielder for a cut price of around £15-20 million.
A reason behind this price may be the fact that Elliott’s contract is set to expire at the end of the 2027 campaign, so the Reds may be looking to cash in before he could leave for free at the end of the next campaign.
