Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has been destroyed in a brutal fail compilation from his side's 2-2 draw with Fulham on Saturday lunchtime.

The Carabao and FA Cup winners were behind twice in a game where Aleksandar Mitrovic bagged a brace and Darwin Nunez got off the mark on his Premier League debut.

Mo Salah bagged the equaliser ten minutes from time to ensure Liverpool avoided defeat.

The Reds were not at the races in their opening fixture and manager Jurgen Klopp, as well as blaming the "dry" pitch at Craven Cottage, was critical of his team's attitude.

And skipper Henderson ended up getting a whole lot of flak on social media. A video showing the England international's worst bits from the game, titled, "Jordan Henderson vs Fulham (A), Time for the championship", has garnered 114,000 views and plenty of reaction in quote-tweets.

The general consensus seems to be that Henderson was incredibly wasteful in possession and did not offer much in midfield for Liverpool, who look light in that area after seeing Thiago Alcantara go off with an injury.

The former Sunderland man also got absolutely bodied by Mitrovic, who had him eating grass before he sent Virgil van Dijk for a hot dog in the second half.

He did nearly bag a stunning winner when he bent one against the crossbar from distance but plenty of Liverpool supporters slammed Henderson's display and think he shouldn't be starting:

he had 71% passing accuracy. 0 Tackles won, 0 Ground duels won, 0 aerial duels won. He was horrible and like always shouting at others for making mistakes! https://t.co/Uu1Ge1nANT

Haha Liverpool fans on these streets said he was one of the best midfielders in the world. We ain’t forget https://t.co/sNSgEVq9tv

Love the man but he’s been dropping stinkers like this for 2 years at least https://t.co/GmW6Agn24M

Giving him that new contract was one of the worst decisions the club ever made and Klopp has blood on his hands for helping to sanction it.

We're paying this guy almost 200k/pw to watch this shit every week dkm. https://t.co/w0oURJJY7i

I appreciate what you done for the club bro. But you're finished. Either use him as a 2nd backup 6 (fab should be 1st backup - not a starter) or let him leave. https://t.co/BMeJNGE9F8

Title will be won/lost in midfield battle again. Instead of waiting for Jude Bellingham we should have gone for someone like Barella who is already a worldclass player and would cost much less than Jude. If we lose PL because of midfield, only Klopp will be to blame for it. https://t.co/fa7RUBFLWe

no technical ability what's so ever man I could find a lad from Sunday league with more technical ability https://t.co/lL9YQJIoeE

Our greatest captain they said. He lifted all the cups. He motivates everyone on and off the pitch. https://t.co/lT20WGGJfz

Got to be the most talentless player that’s played so much at an elite club https://t.co/HIxxO7YaXq

Speaking after the game, Henderson said he was "disappointed" with both the outcome and the performance from his side.

ā€œYes, I think so," he told the official Liverpool website.

"Disappointing, but probably the best thing is we didn’t lose the game.

ā€œWe had a couple of chances at the end to win, but overall I think we can play a lot better than we were today. So yeah, overall, disappointed with the result and the performance.ā€
