Jurgen Klopp will be without a spate of first team players, including Diogo Jota, for Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Leeds at Anfield on Saturday.

The Reds will be bidding to return to winning ways in the league when they play Leeds at the weekend, having suffered a 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest last week.

Last night, Liverpool secured an impressive 3-0 win over Ajax in the Champions League, and Klopp will be hoping his team can take that momentum into the weekend and put right their stuttering league form.

The Liverpool boss will be without a series of first team players however.

Diogo Jota, who Klopp labelled as a “world class striker” earlier this year, suffered a serious calf injury in the Red’s recent clash with Manchester City.

The Portugal star will miss next month’s World Cup and will not be available until the early stages of 2023.

Meanwhile club captain Jordan Henderson has emerged as a doubt for the weekend, due to a knock sustained during Wednesday’s win over Ajax.

Indeed, the Reds are short in midfield with Juventus loanee Arthur out after having undergone surgery on a serious thigh injury and Naby Keita unavailable due to a thigh injury of his own.

After such a good night at Anfield mine ended in the worst way ! In the last minute one of my dreams collapsed 💔
I will be one more supporting from the outside, club and country, and fighting to be back as soon as possible 🙏

However, midfield maestro Thiago Alcantara, who has missed Liverpool’s last two games with an ear infection, is expected to be back in contention for the weekend.

Elsewhere, Joel Matip picked up a calf issue during Liverpool 3-2 defeat at Arsenal earlier this month, and will remain sidelined, while Luis Diaz suffered a serious knee injury in the same game and is not expected to return for Liverpool until after the World Cup.
