Manchester United fans were all impressed by Lisandro Martinez's post-match interview after the 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg.

United bounced back from the 3-2 loss to Premier League leaders Arsenal with a comfortable victory away at the City Ground.

Marcus Rashford opened the scoring early on before Wout Weghorst popped up with his first goal for the club since signing on loan from Burnley.

Bruno Fernandes wrapped up the victory in the second half and gave United a healthy lead to take back to Old Trafford for the second leg.

Martinez, fresh from scoring at the Emirates on Sunday, was named Man of the Match after producing a fine display in the East Midlands.

While his partner Victor Lindelof looked a little shaky at times, Martinez was instrumental in United getting the all-important clean sheet.

Playing with the bandage around his head once again, the Argentine was superb on the ball and read the game tremendously.

The World Cup winner was whisked in for a post-match interview with Sky Sports and he went up in United fans' estimations even further.

🗣 "We never give up."

That's because the former Ajax defender did the chat in perfect English, leaving plenty of supporters stunned.

One fan wrote: "Not Lisandro Martinez speaking fluent English. Just make him captain."

A second said: "The Butcher, @LisandrMartinez. MOTM. His English is spot on and his attitude and humble. What a f***ing lad. If he doesn't get bought and wins trophies, he'll be a f***ing legend."

A third added: "Wasn't familiar with Lisandro Martinez's English."

Another commented: "Wow! First time hearing Martinez speak, never knew he could speak English so fluently well, proud of him."

A fifth stated: Listening to Lisandro Martínez’s interview after the game just makes me love him even more. Absolutely adore the guy."

A sixth opined: "Lisandro Martinez giving an excellent interview in not his 1st language, comes over as a real grounded, calm person, great signing for Utd."

A seventh joked: "@LisandrMartinez just spoke better English in that interview for @SkySports just now than half the population of #Manchester!!"
