Lionel Messi stunned into taking step back from PSG line up by unreal scenes in the crowd

Lionel Messi stunned into taking step back from PSG line up by unreal scenes in the crowd

This happened ahead of the Champions League clash against Juventus.

Paris Saint Germain star Lionel Messi was captured taking a step back from his side’s line up in order to watch the incredible scenes in the crowd.

As both sets of players walked out prior to kick off, the Parc des Princes crowd lit up the stadium in what was a truly spectacular moment.

The scenes were so breathtaking that Messi actually took a step away from the line up in order to catch a better view of the crowd, who were cheering so loud the Champions League anthem could barely be heard.

Those spectacular scenes set things up nicely as PSG produced some stunning football in the first half to race to a 2-0 lead.

Neymar found Kylian Mbappe with a delicate chip before the French international expertly volleyed the ball into the back of Mattia Perin’s net.

Mabppe doubled his tally in the 22nd minute when he was in the right place at the right time to turn in a pull back from Achraf Hakimi

Juventus put in a more spirited performance in the second half as Weston McKennie headed in in the 53rd minute. However, they were unable to find an equaliser and PSG held on for a much needed win.

At the end of the match, manager Christophe Galtier said his side played a poor second half.

He said: “We had problems after the break, as we allowed a few too many chances, but I am happy overall with the performance.

“At times we defended deeper to go on the counter, so I am satisfied with what we did in the first half. When you are 2-0 up, the third goal will arrive on the right side or the wrong one…

“Our positioning was wrong on the short corner, it was meant to be a different plan. We allowed chances, but this is the Champions League, and we also had opportunities to score our third.”

PSG are one of the favourites to win this season’s Champions League due to the array of talents at manager Galtier’s disposal.

The club’s faithful are also expecting the team to go all the way, especially after the manner of PSG’s exit from last season’s competition.

The Parisian club were leading 1-0 going in the second leg of the round of 16 tie against Real Madrid. However, Madrid, led by Karim Benzema turned the tie around as he netted a hat trick in 17 second half minutes to stun Messi and his teammates.

PSG fans were furious after the club’s exit from the Champions League last season, so furious they booed the likes of Messi and Neymar in the following game in Ligue 1.
