Laura Woods addresses rumours she is replacing Jake Humphrey on TNT Sports

Laura Woods has commented on speculation she is set to replace Jake Humphrey in a huge new role.

Laura Woods has addressed rumours she is set to replace Jake Humphrey and front coverage of Premier League football on TNT Sports.

Humphrey has taken a step back from his lead presenting role with BT Sport, which will now be operating under a new name going forward.

The former Bamzooki host spent a decade with the broadcaster but his final game anchoring was Manchester City's Champions League final win over Inter Milan in Istanbul.

American company Warner Bros Discovery, which also owns Eurosport, made a huge purchase of BT and are making huge changes to the presentation from the 2023/24 season onwards.

And it has been heavily rumoured that Woods had been eyed up as the new face of TNT's coverage, with the Daily Mail saying "positive talks" were held and that there was confidence that she would sign as part of the major reband.

The 35-year-old recently bid an emotional farewell from her position as talkSPORT's breakfast host but while she admits she has offers on the table, has yet to sign on the dotted line.

"I know, I've seen a lot of articles, but I haven't signed anything," she told The Sun.

"There are a couple of offers, but I've got a glorious month off now where I can sit down and start planning the next things.

"I don't want to rush into anything, I've never been able to have that privilege in my life before. Never.

"I have always been 100 miles per hour in my career. I used to have this work ethic of taking absolutely everything, because I knew that it would teach me something."

Woods currently works for ITV and will be at the heart of their coverage of the women's World Cup. She has also presented NFL and FA Cup broadcasts, while also doing boxing hosting for DAZN.

She first started at Sky Sports as a runner in 2009 and worked her way up to becoming one of the lead presenters, before departing in August 2022.
