Rodri's reaction to unbelievable Anthony Gordon assist vs Rayo Vallecano is going viral

Rodri was left with his head in his hands after Anthony Gordon produced an audacious backheel assist during Barcelona's latest win.

Gordon, who became the first player in the 21st century to provide two assists on his La Liga debut, was one of Barca's standout performers on Monday night as they swept away Rayo Vallecano.

Sergio Camello gave Vallecano a surprise lead in the opening stages, but it didn't take long for Hansi Flick's side to bounce back.

Raphinha equalised in the 19th minute with his fourth goal of the season before Lamine Yamal made it 2-1 after beating Dani Cardenas at his near post with a superb strike from the edge of the box.

Barca would end up scoring five past their opponents, but it was a moment of brilliance from Anthony Gordon that grabbed the headlines.

Instead of feeding the ball to fellow summer signing Rodri, who was free in the penalty area, the former Newcastle man showed superb awareness and vision to find Raphinha, who would go on to score his second.

As you can see in the footage above, Gordon produced a perfectly-timed backheel pass to Raphinha. In fact, a stunned Rodri could be seen with his head in his hands as the rest of his teammates celebrated Raphinha's effort.

The England international, who joined Barca from Newcastle this summer for around £69 million, has certainly impressed onlookers of late.

Hansi Flick praises Anthony Gordon after performance against Rayo Vallecano

Speaking in his post-match interview, Hansi Flick was full of praise for Gordon.

“He’s very quick and has good ball control. He’s provided two assists today," said Flick. "Having him, Karim (Adeyemi), Raphinha and Lamine (Yamal) gives us a lot of pace. I’m very pleased with him.”

Earlier this month, Flick gave an insight into Gordon's feelings towards joining Barca.

"From the very first phone call with Anthony Gordon, I could feel his excitement about joining Barcelona," he said, as per Fabrizio Romano. "He really wanted to come, and I'm very happy he's with us."
