He was fully committed to staying at the club...

Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski could make a sensational U-turn and leave the club this summer after receiving a huge offer of €50m per year.

Lewandowski will turn 37 later this month, and is under contract at Barcelona until next summer after joining from Bayern Munich in 2022.

Despite his age, the veteran striker has continued to flourish at the Catalan club and scored 42 goals in just 52 appearances across all competitions last season.

Due to his continued form, it looked all but certain the Polish striker would remain at the Nou Camp next season, and even confirmed that desire in an interview with BILD in June.

"It's not an issue for me. I'll stay next season. Right now, all I have on my mind is Barcelona," he told fans.

"Our team will be even better next season, I feel very strong physically."

Lewandowski even revealed his current biological age, to reassure doubters that his age wasn't catching up with him.

“I check it constantly: currently, my biological age is 30. I think it's not bad at all. That corresponds to how I feel," he explained.

“In the end, it's about what my heart and my head tell me.”

Lewandowski considering €100m offer

According to Spanish outlet El Nacional, the Barca star has received a two-year proposal worth an estimated €100m which has cast doubt on his decision to stay.

The report also claims Lewandowski would receive 'added benefits' for him and his family if he makes the move to the Saudi Pro League.

The club interested currently remain unnamed.

It is also claimed that their is some concern internal concern within Barcelona with the striker still a key cog in Hansi Flick's plan despite the arrival of Marcus Rashford.

Sporting director Deco is also keen for a decision to be made as soon as possible, allowing the La Liga side to make important transfer decisions with context.
