One club was left 'rubbing their eyes' after being offered the chance to sign Raheem Sterling.
In January, after falling out of favour at Chelsea, Sterling parted ways with the Stamford Bridge club.
An official club statement read: "Raheem Sterling has today departed Chelsea Football Club by mutual agreement, bringing to an end three-and-a-half seasons as our player, having signed in the summer of 2022 when he was transferred from Manchester City.
"We thank Raheem for the contribution he made while a Chelsea player and wish him well for the next stage in his career."

Since then, the Englishman has been linked with the likes of West Ham United, Fulham, Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur.
The winger is yet to find a new club with the transfer window shutting on Monday night.
However, being a free agent, Sterling can join a new team at any given time.

According to Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, one club was left rubbing their eyes after being offered the chance to sign Sterling.
The club in question was German Bundesliga side Union Berlin.
Plettenberg wrote on social media: "Raheem Sterling was offered to Union Berlin in recent days.
"As Horst Heldt (managing director) confirmed exclusively to Sky: “Sometimes you have to rub your eyes (…) In this case, it didn’t really seem serious. We didn’t pursue it any further.”
Recently speaking about Sterling, ex-Liverpool and England star Jamie Carragher said: "There was a sense that Sterling never quite won the love of others.
"I am not sure how high he would feature on an all-time list of the greatest England and Manchester City players. My suspicion is that he would rank lower than he should.
"Had Sterling’s career ended with his Manchester City exit four years ago, he would have already achieved more by the age of 27 than most manage in a lifetime."
